Located at the urban threshold of Pyungtek, Anjung emerges as a symbolic gateway where city and landscape meet. The site sits at the intersection of the southern expanse of open fields and the densifying city fabric to the north, providing an opportunity to craft a landmark that anchors this burgeoning town center while catalyzing future urban growth.
The project is conceived as a layered urban entity. The podium, an architectural and infrastructural nexus, integrates diverse programs including retail spaces, a cinema, and a reimagined bus terminal. Functioning as an urban condenser, the podium establishes four primary axial connections, extending outward to link the north, south, east, and west, while an open courtyard at its heart creates a vibrant, light-filled street gallery for public engagement.
Rising above, a park and kindergarten atop the podium offer an elevated sanctuary for residents and the community, softening the transition between the bustling ground plane and the verticality of the towers. The four residential towers, soaring 49 stories, are strategically arranged in a staggered zig-zag configuration to maximize openness, views, and privacy.
At mid-height, a dynamic "skybridge" element integrates landscaped gardens that weave between the towers. Inspired by traditional oriental landscape paintings, these elevated green spaces function as communal terraces and structural braces, visually uniting the towers while enhancing their stability. This design transforms the residential towers into a sculptural form—an interconnected urban cloud that redefines the skyline.
Together, the podium and towers create a landmark that is as functional as it is iconic, capturing the energy and aspirations of Anjung as it grows into a vibrant new urban hub.
