ASK Architects
ASK Architects approaches architecture as a framework for accommodating change. Rather than treating a building as a finished object, we are interested in how it holds programs, movement, and events over time, and how these relationships can generate new forms of spatial and urban experience.
We begin with the conditions of each project: its program, site, context, and constraints. Rather than fixing an outer form and fitting a program inside it, we work from the inside out and let form emerge from these conditions. A workplace, a commercial building, or a house is not treated as a predetermined format, but as a type open to reinterpretation.
We understand architecture as an urban proposition as much as a building. Its value lies not only in its physical form, but in how it engages its surroundings and creates new relationships between the building, the city, and its users.
Based in Seoul and informed by practice abroad, ASK Architects treats each project as an opportunity to question what a familiar building can become.

아스크 건축사사무소
​ASK Architects는 건축을 변화와 가능성을 수용하는 하나의 틀로 바라봅니다. 건물을 완결된 오브제로 보기보다, 시간에 따라 변화하는 프로그램과 
움직임, 사건을 담아내고 그 관계를 통해 새로운 공간적·도시적 경험을 만들어내는 구조로 이해합니다.
각 프로젝트의 프로그램, 대지, 주변 맥락과 제약 조건에서 출발합니다. 바깥의 형태를 먼저 정하고 그 안에 프로그램을 끼워 넣기보다, 이 조건들로
부터 형태가 따라 나오게 합니다.  업무시설, 상업시설, 주거와 같은 건축 유형을 정해진 형식으로 받아들이기보다, 다시 해석될 수 있는 열린 대상으로 다룹니다.
건축을 하나의 건물인 동시에 도시를 위한 제안으로 바라봅니다. 건축의 가치는 물리적 형태에만 있는 것이 아니라, 주변 환경과 관계를 맺고 건축과 도시, 그리고 사용자의 새로운 관계를 만들어내는 방식에 있다고 생각합니다.
서울에 기반을 두고 해외 실무 경험을 바탕으로, ASK Architects는 각각의 프로젝트를 익숙한 건축이 무엇이 될 수 있는지 질문하는 기회로 삼습니다.
Sang Kim 
Sang Kim is a Seoul-based architect and the founder of ASK Architects. Raised in New Zealand, he received both his Bachelor and Master of Architecture with First Class Honours from the University of Auckland and is a registered architect in the Netherlands. He is also an adjunct professor at Konkuk University, where he teaches architecture.
At OMA / Rem Koolhaas he worked primarily in Rotterdam, with later assignments in Doha and New York. His work there included Lab City CentraleSupélec, the Simone Veil Bridge, the Audrey Irmas Pavilion, the Bibliothèque Alexis de Tocqueville, and the Qatar Cultural & Sports Hub Masterplan.
In 2025, ASK Architects completed its first built project in Seoul, the FNL Headquarters. The project was subsequently featured in SPACE and BRIQUE.
김상우
​Sang Kim은 서울을 기반으로 활동하는 건축가이자 ASK Architects의 대표다. 뉴질랜드에서 성장했으며, 오클랜드 대학교에서 건축학 학사와 석사를 최우등(First Class Honours)으로 마쳤고, 네덜란드 등록건축사다. 현재 건국대학교 건축대학 겸임교수로 재직하며 건축설계를 가르치고 있다.
OMA / Rem Koolhaas에서 주로 로테르담에서 근무했으며, 이후 도하와 뉴욕에서 프로젝트를 이어갔다. Lab City CentraleSupélec, Simone Veil Bridge, Audrey Irmas Pavilion, Bibliothèque Alexis de Tocqueville, Qatar Cultural & Sports Hub Masterplan 등의 프로젝트에 참여했다.
2025년 ASK Architects는 서울에서 첫 완공작인 에프엔엘 사옥을 완성했다. 이 프로젝트는 이후 SPACE와 BRIQUE에 소개되었다.
